"The 4 C's

COLOR: Diamonds are available in a range of color grades. A diamond's color greatly affects its price. The Cemological Institute of America (GIA) has developed a system for color grading. Colors range from the most expensive, colorless D-F grades to the modestly priced light yellow S-X grades. Colorless diamonds allow the most reflection of light.
Therefore they are the most brilliant.

CUT: A correct cut brins out the fire of a diamond. This is the ideal situation. But stones are often cut to minimize inclusions or produce a greater yield, and reduce the cost per carat.

CLARITY: Inclusions affect tne beauty and value of a diamond, because they reduce brilliance. Flawless diamonds are extremely rare. Then, as the inclusions increase down through the grades to I3, the cost decreases proportionately to the supply.

CARAT WEIGHT: Larger diamonds are more rare than smaller diamonds; so a larger Stone costs more per carat than a smaller one. While weight is an important consideration, you should consider all of the 4 'C's" when purchasing diamonds.

On our Stock Numbers the last two digits indicate the grade.
For example if the last two digits are:
-22 The grade will be 12 to I3, H color
-23 The grade will be I to I2, H color
-33 The grade will be I to SI, H color
-43 The grade will be SI to SI2, H color.

Our Diamonds are excellent quality and of course are 100% guaranteed. Each Diamond faces up very nicely and go towards the higher grade.
Our color is a strong H which is of course a good white.
Please see the &LA Scales for grading descriptions.

Diamond Lore. Diamonds are thought to be named for the Greek word "Adamas" and traditionally represent fearlessness and love. They are the hardest natural substance and are called "Ice" because they
are naturally cold.Diamonds are the April birthstone and are mined in South Africa, India, Russia, Australia, Brazil, Borneo Indonesia and America.Although a diamond is considered a "10" hardness as compared to a Ruby (corundum) at "9", the cutting resistance is 140 times greater on a diamond than on corundum..
The hardness of a diamond differs in its individual crystal faces. This allows us to cut diamonds with diamonds. In addition to "white", diamonds are also found in colors such as yellow, brown, green, blue and even reddish-black.
